On a more cheerful note...

When we had lunch yesterday with the Forteys at the National Theatre, we passed these painted pachyderms, part of the 2010 London Elephant Parade, organized to raise consciousness re the plight of Asian elephants.

    They certainly add a note of cheer on a grey day. I'll be sorry to see them disappear.
